Last Day of Drakken

Thirty years ago, the Great House of Drakken fell, its position stripped and its leaders punished for their failure by the First Lich.  But what happened? What occurred on that last night at the Conclave Temple?

The Hollow Dawn Prologue/Playtest will be happening on the 7th of December in South Boulder.   We have 42 player slots total which will be available on a first come, first served basis when we open registration (here within the next few weeks). Players will be playing a 4th level staff-generated character.  There will be options to work with staff to build your own stat card to allow you to try out the Breed, class, build and skills that you wish to try in a longer form playtest. If you don’t want to build your own stat card, staff is happy to build one for you.

As for background, relationships and Lineage, we will be handling that a bit differently.  Most players will be playing the final scions of the once-great House of Drakken. Current Lineage Leaders will be NPCing as a previous Leader of their same Lineage and four members of their household can play the Lineage with them, chosen by lottery from among the players who want to stick with own Lineage. Because of lore issues, cross-Lineage play will not be allowed (i.e. If you are currently planning on playing Borgias, you will not join Alucard for the Prologue), although those not currently in a House can play a member if they want to try it out.  There are also 6 non-House slots.

Although much of the game will happen indoors in a tavern-like environment, there will be opportunities to adventure out into the dark and cold of December. Please dress appropriately for being outside for up to 30 minutes at a time.  This playtest will include testing full combat, crafting, gathering, traps, locks and several other non-combat subsystems.

Since this playtest is being handled as an actual game, we are asking all PCs that come to dress in at the least basic genre costuming.  We do not expect final costumes that you are planning on using for Hollow Dawn next year, but if you wish to test out pieces, this is a good opportunity to do so.  If you need assistance with garb, please reach out to a member of the Hollow Dawn staff.

The game will cost $20 for PCs and dinner will be provided.  Game time will be approximately five hours, but exact times and schedule will be announced later.

All information and lore learned during the Prologue will be knowable by the Permanent PCs as rumors or hearsay.  Success at various tasks, battles, and the like will be awarded with special prizes that can be cashed in by Permanent Characters for treasure, Resources, information, and more at the First Event.

A reminder, this is still considered a playtest, feedback will be taken after the event and the rules may change based on what we experience during this event.

Registration is now closed for the Tavern Night. If you want to see if you have a confirmed spot, you can go here to check.

If you have any questions, please ask here, or visit our Discord and drop questions in the Prologue channel.
